Head of School
Peter Kernion, M.Ed

Mr. Peter Kernion has been named the 5th Head of School for Stuart Hall School for Boys New Orleans. Following a national search that took place over the last several years, the decision was announced today by Stuart Hall’s Board of Trustees Chair, Stephen Miles, ”After conducting a nationwide search to find the right fit for Stuart Hall, the Search Committee determined that what Stuart Hall needed was right here in New Orleans. Peter has educated young men for almost 30 years, with the last 28 spent in various roles at Jesuit High School, both as a teacher, an administrator, and a leader. Peter shares our vision for Stuart Hall and embraces the values upon which our school and community are built. He understands the academic strengths and, more importantly, the strong character of Stuart Hall graduates, as they have thrived at Jesuit and other top high schools across the area.“

Kernion’s faith-filled leadership skills, experience in all-boys Catholic schools, and familiarity with New Orleans made him the best candidate to lead Stuart Hall into the future. The Search Committee unanimously selected Kernion from a pool of highly qualified candidates, and his selection was enthusiastically approved by Stuart Hall’s Board of Trustees.
