Endowment Funds
Since 1984, Stuart Hall School for Boys has lived the words of Catholic educator, Janet Erskine Stuart, RSCJ, “Education is formation, not just information.”
Stuart Hall School for Boys established its endowment in 2013 under the direction of Board of Trustees President Kent Ryan. Currently, our endowment portfolio consists of separate funds partially endowed and fully endowed* funds to support students in several areas: to provide for long term needs and future growth of the school, to provide need based financial assistance to students who would otherwise not be able to enjoy an accelerated curriculum in the nurturing environment that Stuart Hall School for Boys offers and to provide academic merit scholarships to support students that excel in the qualities and values of a Stuart Hall education.

Proceeds from the annual luncheon are directed to the Nil Nisi Bonum Scholarship Fund. Read more information about the luncheon or donate to the Nil Nisi Bonum Scholarship Fund.

Merit-Based Scholarship Endowment Funds
The Tom And Gayle Benson Leadership Fund* & Award
Leadership is best defined through our mission. Stuart Hall challenges each boy to use all of his gifts wisely and to accept the responsibility for his actions. Setting a good example, being confident in interactions, and growing in self-discipline are the collective means by which Stuart Hall challenges each boy to develop his gifts. The foundations of leadership are self-esteem and confidence.
Tom and Gayle Benson have exemplified leadership in the New Orleans community through their philanthropic endeavors along with their success in their professional lives. The Bensons established this fund to honor a seventh grade student at Stuart Hall that exemplifies leadership skills along with the qualities of the Stuart Hall mission. This award is an opportunity to recognize a student who has lived out the mission of Stuart Hall and demonstrated excellent achievement in student leadership. This honor is bestowed annually to one seventh grader who best exemplifies leadership as defined as someone who has given back to his community/contributed to the betterment of his school community and/or city in the likeness of Tom Benson.
