Stuart Hall Receives Grant for Security System Improvements

Stuart Hall School for Boys is pleased to announce it has received an $85,000 grant from The Gustaf W. McIlhenny Foundation to cover the cost of vital campus wide improvements to its emergency notification system. The grant has allowed the school to purchase and install a communications platform and system that allows for swift, real-time communication throughout the campus.

Interim Head of School Timothy M. Burns said the system is a crucial piece of Stuart Hall’s safety and security plans. “We are so grateful for the generosity from The Gustaf W. McIlhenny Foundation, which has allowed Stuart Hall to make necessary improvements to its campus safety and security system and best serve our boys as we live out our mission,” said Burns.

Director of Security Bobby Guidry agreed. "Providing as much safety as we possibly can is not just for students, faculty and staff, but for our parents who need reassurance that when they drop their sons off each day, they know their sons are at a safe place where they can learn, grow, and develop," said Guidry.

The system allows administrators to activate lockdowns and communicate emergency messages to every building on campus simultaneously through a paging system, website, or mobile app. Additionally, it integrates with the campus’ existing camera systems in emergency situations.

“The Gustaf W. McIlhenny Foundation is thrilled to support the growth and development of Stuart Hall and its mission of ‘Education is formation, not just information.’ We know the security upgrades and enhancements made on Stuart Hall's campus will greatly help protect the students, faculty and all members of the Stuart Hall community,” said Rod Rodriguez, Jr., president of The Gustaf W. McIlhenny Foundation.
